Is anyone NOT going due to Furthur/Ratdog cancelling?

Yea, that was before Bobby, hell that was before the whole band, really came into his/their own. Phil had studied music, he was obviously the better musician, Jerry was obviously great, fast forward 3 years after that whole scenario and Bobs chops are waaay better, he's a better singer, and the songs are all better. Regardless I stand by my statement, it's about the voices for me. The bands/artists I listen to the most are The Grateful Dead, The Band, Townes Van Zandt, Blaze Foley, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, George Jones, Leadbelly, Brownie Mcghee, The Allman Brothers.... Well you get the picture, there's 3 living singers from all those groups combined that are still listenable; Petty, Greg Allman, and Weir....Which means this lineup is still awesome, but it was initially my trifecta.

just 2, at festivals. Absolutely fantastic musicians, kind of ok songwriters, but that's beside the point. I can't stand kool & the gang.

:/ Sorry, it's not that I dislike dancing in general, I love seeing people enjoy themselves, if that's how you do it then awesome. But I'm a starer, which actually tends to bother some people. I've been tapped and even pushed and asked "why I'm not having fun" at a show before, I tend to just say something like "no I'm good". But in truth I just get pulled into a trance by music, but it's all mental, for some reason the rest of my body does nothing, I also listen very carefully to lyrics, and I dislike lyrics that are meaningless. Personal preferences, nothing more.

Oh I get all that, no worries... at least it's just the lead guy from Kool and not the entire gang... I think it will be a groovin first night. We like cheese because they have really smart orchestration and such a variety of styles... even though my husband, who's seen like 100 cheese shows, calls them the best cover band on the planet, we think they're just guaranteed fun and professional - no slacking on their musicianship.
