Here in Virginia I don't believe in a weather forecast that's over 24 hours out. And even then there's a 50% chance that it will be wrong.

My guess it will be hot and sunny, except when it's not. And you can count on several drunk fronts rumbling through the grounds.

I agree, too. In this (and that) part of Virginia there are several weather patterns or systems that typically last three days, and are often followed by a predictable 2 days system (3 days NE cloudy/rain followed by 2 days NW dry and clear, for example). So the trick, especially for an event like Lockn, is to know where in the 3 day cycle you are. So if we get nasty rainy NE system starting Sunday before, we are in great shape; if it starts the Thursday of, we are hosed.

Another big factor for Lockn is whether there are any hurricane/tropical storm systems in play--not talking about enough to cancel, but enough to make us miserable. We can peg them about 4 days before the event.

no, I didn't mean we'd see one 4 days before--certainly hope not--but if one is lurking about, about 4 days before the fest we can predict generally how it will affect us, if at all.

I love the wishful projection at the top and it is one of many likely patterns, and is a really good one. But my point, along with others, is that there's no way to know until we get close.

We do tend to have St Louis' weather 3 days later.

last year's weather was perfect. Recall the rain socking in Monday morning--that's the type that hangs on for a couple days. Bleh.

I think sneake's been corrupted by advertising aimed at his demographic (young...ish, single men). I have both the Anti-Monkey Butt and Gold Bond, and I really think I prefer the Gold Bond. I like my pants to not only be dry, but cool and zingy too!
