Do you believe in Weather Outlooks?

Its easier to plan for rain and be comfortable then knowing its going to be hot. In my personal opinion. Might start a new thread discussing rain tactics?

Dintcha ever go to a rain-or-shine Dead show where it rained? I did many times, including 6/30/95 where the first half of the second set was Rain>Box of Rain>Samba in the Rain>LL Rain>Terrapin. Looks a bit better than it sounded 'cause ol' Jer wasn't doing too good by then, but still: 

I suspect several casual campers will soon discover the value of a well-built tent and a competent rain fly. Seal those seams folks!

IF there is going to be rain I can deal with it. Like smosey said tho, constant rain with no cahnce to dry out is not ideal. But as long as the lightning stays away I can soldier on. Lightning make everything worse. Except for breaking some nitrogen molecules apart for use by plants and birds and rocks and things.

rain is good for life but we can take a break for a long weekend, or a quick shower at night, sun showers, bot not torrential.  i'd prefer not.   cold blooded lizards do better in rain but i am human.  if john lennon looked down at us from heaven, would he wants us muddy and wet?  guess it depends on how much you like it.

At the tiny Jam Along the Creek fest in June this year we had a couple of really torrential downpours. It definitely put a damper on the music. But the whole storm was actually a pretty fun experience. Worf and I had the sturdiest camp of anyone in our vicinity, so people just found their way under our easy up and waited it out with us while Worf and I worked on holding everything down....because it was that big a storm. But the shared experience of getting wet and having to dry out your stuff and trying to stay safe together....it was one of those magical moments that just happens. There's a good experience to be found in nearly every situation.

At least it's not early Spring or late Fall which would be rather bone chilling. Looking forward to seeing everyone!!

Been following www.roanoke.com/weather/ as suggested from this forum. Noticed rain amounts have gone down substantially on saturday from what was being reported earlier in the day.

May the wind and rain be a kiss instead of a hug and an overnight.

I live an hour from the farm and all rain and storms have been hit or miss for the past month or more. The area is very dry and it will take lots of rain to create muddy conditions. Temps are looking better and humidity seems to be going down. Local weather TV says Thursday is the most likely for the best/worst chance for rain. I am getting so excited rain will not bother me. Also seems to not be much wind over the weekend, good for tents.
