Adult beverage questions

last year i had 4 six packs in my cooler. dude said 'only one case, im going to take 2 of these. you're lucky i don't take 3' to which i replied '4 six packs is the same as one 24 can case' and he just goes 'oh ya, you're good'. and i thought, fuckin right im good, lol

One case of beer will not last me 4 days.. I won't overload, but will have a issue if they try to "help themselves!"

Costco sells a 48 can case.  Tastes awful, but it hydrates and sedates.

They hardly even checked last year. But I have a large cooler & fill the whole bottom with beer, then the top I have water, cokes & some beers. Then I have packed in a heavy packed SUV 2 more 12 packs of 16 oz's. So I get 48 beers in without a problem. Plus I had 2 4 packs of craft beer.

In Virginia (I have no idea about any other state) you do not have to be a Costco member to purchase alcohol.  Something about a private club and alcohol sales violates the ABC laws, so they have to let anybody in to purchase.  

Just a tip.  The same also applies to pharmaceuticals.  

so you can walk into Costco without a membership card if you are just buying beer/wine? that seems odd. But so do most ABC laws here. Wonder if anyone has tried it? Not that it's worth it.

Anyway, you can't get in a semantics battle at the gate about what a "case" is. They mean 24. They set the rules. They have discretion to change the rules and also to keep you out if you are a "problem." And most important, they already have your money.

Not that I expect the gate people to be jerks about it, unless the ticket holder starts it--which will make it hard for everyone.

Best just to be cool, engage in moderation, cooperate at the gate by showing your beer cooler with some loose beer in the top, and going on about your way. Everyone involved has better things to do.

Similar question. I am staying out at Wintergreen but wanted to hit the M&G and also visit folks in car camping, etc. Any problems with taking shuttle to the farm w backpack cooler of cans to enjoy/swap. Can you just walk into those areas to hang out w beer or do they search you when you walk onto the grounds? I don't think that meeting Sneake w/o several beers will be nearly as fun:).

you just can't take them into the stage area (aka "venue") so you'll need to leave the cooler somewhere. Maybe carry a luggage lock

IIRC craft beers in venue were $8 for a 20 oz imperial pint, and I think beer flavored water....er....mass produced domestic was $6 for a 20 oz imperial pint.  I don't drink liquor, so I can't help you with mixed drink prices.

No liquor on site that I could find; maybe in SVIP.

Cider and wine, too, but I don't know the prices.

I thought they were 16 oz? Could be wrong.

VIP beers about $2 cheaper (maybe smaller? that's where I bought mine)

Though I'm sure beer snobs wouldn't touch it, Stella sells 10 packs of 16 oz cans.
