  We stayed in the High Field area last year. I think the W area you are asking about, is indeed a low area. I hear ya on the long walk. We got up at 2am from Devils Backbone brewery, gathered our things and split. We were in line by about 3:15, and we were one of the first 75 RV's to enter. If you look at the map released today, we came in gate 7, passed Garcia's Forest on the right, then passed The Woods stage on the left. We continued around, then headed N towards the Blue Ridge Bowl stage. When we got to that little 4 way cross roads, we continued straight towards what is labelled on today's map as the pedestrian path. Not sure why the current map shows Infinity Downs where it is, but that must be due to the space restrictions of the map. The reality of last year was, the food & other vendors were on the other side of the road, on the pedestrian path. The LOVE sign is right there too. With your early entrance like us, it is my best belief that they will begin parking us there, as they did last year. This year could be different, but if they follow last years protocol, we are going to be in that area. We had the luxury of having Gov't Mule play until 3:30 in the am, and while we couldn't see them all night, we stumbled back to the RV, and still jammed out to them. If someone else knows anything about Infinity Downs, please chime in. Hope I didn't confuse you in my description Doc, but here's the straight up skinny: Looking at this years map, they began parking RV's just S of the water fill-up area that is just N of the pedestrian path across Infiniti Downs. It's not a huge hike to get into the main stage.

I feel like it was hooked to the right last year near the year 2 woods stage and year 3 forest camping and not all the way behind car camping

It looks like the VIP RV area has been moved outside of the track this year. Think that this is a good thing. Looks like it is right next to the staging area for the shoulder rides!

Hi friend! Just wondering where you see that the VIP RV area is outside the track? I'm a total Lockn newbie, my crew is making our first Lockn fest and we are doing the VIP RV thing, just trying to figure out where it is. Thank you!

I don't see it noted anywhere on the map so it may be in the area marked VIP camping. No way they sold enough SVIP tickets to fill the entire area marked SVIP camping. Plus a big part of that area is a "pond" not suitable for campers.

With the last minute chages to the layout last year I don't know if we saw Infinity Downs or not. It might just have been a low muddy place.

I know there was a general store and some other vendors at the very back of Blue Ridge Bowl last year - maybe that is what infinity downs is supposed to be.

No there was not any of the camping High Fields, Infinity, Car West, RV West or Forest. I don't think BRB was even in play for 1 & 2. Infinity downs looks like a field on Google maps but it isn't camping color (pale yellow instead of darker yellow, blue or green. The general store and vendors was up where Shake Down is indicated.

its pretty cool using the historical imagery feature with Google Earth and seeing the changes to the farm over the three years - and damn that was a long walk form Car Camping 2 in year 1. About 1.25 miles as the crow flies so i bet about 2 miles walk to and from the campsite to the stage.
