Silly goose, they don't put it on you they put it IN you. It only hurts for a little bit and then after you get used to the blue glow it really isn't all that bad.

I personally never saw any problems with RFID wristbands the 3 years I went to Bonnaroo (12-14)

True story-At Bonnaroo this year a guy decided to run across I-24 at night and got hit by a moving van and jeep. They ID'd him with his RFID chip.

Given what I have seen of Locken's organization skills at the site and the webcasts that give you a glimpse into their level of professionalism crossed with my understanding of data analytics, I can assure you nothing of value will come from any RFID chip regardless of where it is inserted. At best they might eventually get excel to give them the average entrance rate at the gates so they can staff accordingly. That information would then get passed to the second layer of management. Assuming it was not lost underneath a copy of Mother Jones on their desk, the 3rd tier managers would in turn be given daily staffing ratios. Finally, shift supervisors would have to systematically pull the stoned volunteers away from the grill cheese trucks to get them to the appropriate gate at the appropriate time. None of this is likely to happen.

I'm not thinking tracking at all. I think, IF THEY DO IT, that it will be to just help reduce counterfeit tickets/wristbands.

The older and more experienced I get, the less paranoid I get. Having access to many large complex companies has convinced me that vast conspiracies ignore the general incompetence of large groups of people.

Every larger fest I've been to in recent memory uses RFID wristbands. They aren't for tracking, they are to swipe in and out of areas so the (often stoned) workers don't have to use limited brain function to see if the band is the right color for entry.

They are going to use microwaves from the bracelets to limit our complaints and entice us to spend more money. I've seen it before
