The volunteers do stay stoned most of the time in general. As part of one of the hired security companies, I can say that while on shift most of us are very sober and proud of what we do. We like to party and go to the shows too, but when we work we try to make everything smooth. See you guys next month.

I figured you were but I've seen a lot of people that have that view of security. Some of the guys I have worked with are wooks that can't be trusted. The rfid bugs me but I get why festivals use them. Gone are the days of loose wristbands and good friends.

Strictly going on other festivals that I've worked. It isn't all the volunteers, but a very large portion of wet volunteers at roo and electric forest were. No offense intended.

Keep in mind that at no point has there been any indication that there would be RFID chips in the bracelets. It is almost as if this has been accepted as fact when it all stems from a question, and a smartass one at that, on page 1 of this thread, to wit, "Wonder if they will be RFID wristbands for scanning your brainwaves and drone surveillance and shit."
Having said that if they are only sending us wristbands then there has to be either RFID chips embedded in the wristband, a bar code on the wristband or some alien technology that uniquely identifies your wristband just like a ticket.
What happens if I take both?

Unless you want to read the FAQs or something:
So I’m not getting a ticket?
You will not receive a hard ticket as in years past. Instead you’ll receive an RFID wristband that will act as your “ticket” to enter the Festival. Be sure to wear your wristband at all times at the Festival.
Just me, but I consider that pretty good confirmation.

LOCKN’ Festival goers will benefit from a streamlined and enhanced experience with the RFID wristband this year. With a simple scan of the wrist, it makes for speedier entry, and the opportunity to participate in LOCKN’ Cashless to purchase food, drinks, and merchandise; both of which allows you to spend less time in line, and more time enjoying LOCKN’!

its a bit like PayPal, in that one vendor (Lockn overlord) has your credit card information instead of all the vendors you buy from having your cc info.

I sincerely hope it is indeed PayPal associated. They had MANY issues when they first hit EBay, but all that crap has long since been worked out. I have my account tied to my American Express card. AmEx is the best in the industry IMHO. They really protect their customers. I don't buy alot of stuff at festivals either, but anything to reduce time spent in line is a huge plus for all of us.
