I am trying to figure out if my 50 Amp RV will be allowed to use the generator as needed while we are camping. My rental company told me today that my original 30 amp RV has been decommissioned and we are in a 50amp unit that can't be converted down to 30 as it has 2 AC units. Does anyone know if they will allow generator use as much as we want? We will mainly just need it to cool at night and power stove and keeping fridge cool.

Get a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter and just use one of the air conditioners. As OO pointed out, get a 30 amp plug and it will run one AC and most everything else. Fridge is a low draw. Only terrible people run gennies at night when 30 amp is available.

last year due to the storm knocking out some of the power for GA RV they set those with generators in a non-powered area

If you buy the adapter, be aware that running certain things together could trip the fuse. This is not necessarily the adapter and prolly just an overload. For instance, whenever our microwave is running and wife is drying her hair, it trips the breaker. Just reset it and dont assume the adapter is useless.

there was a guy doing this at lockn1 in ga rv. he kept running both of his ac units and it did trip the breaker. that makes everyone connected to the same unit lose power. after the third time he did it, they threatened to disconnect him if he did it again. never had another problem.

What? ALL the rvs rented from everywhere have generators. As we were coming in they told us that we could, if we wanted, park up on rv ridge but there wouldn't be any power. Rv pump guy is hit or miss from my experience. They will issue a number you can text your location to. Apparently it is $60 for a single pump out.
The Lockn FAQ makes it sound as if there is no refill trucks and the only way to get water refill is by hauling your own water containers. If this is the case, are the refill stations located within RV parking?
Regarding water, the map shows water refill stations at all the areas. The problem is, you can be really close to it or really far. I brought a collapsible wagon and two 5 gallon jugs last year. Never ended up having to refill.

How long do you think a 37 gal fresh tank and a 22 gal black tank last 4 people? I plan on being inside the show most of the time. Should we even consider showering?

If all I have is a water hose connection to my RV gray water, how do you go about filling that up? Does someone drive around and fill up your tank? I only have a 30 gallon tank and 4 peeps so I doubt that makes it through the weekend.

I'm no expert but I believe the grey tank is for disposal of shower and sink water. You shouldn't fill it, you drain it. You should fill the fresh water tank.

You will arrive will full tanks and are responsible for filling your fresh water. But remember that unless you get the grey/black pumped out there is no where for that water to go. Your grey/black water capacity is the limiting factor until you get that pumped. There should be a truck that comes by and pumps them out for $60 but I wouldn't count on it.

You will be responsible for re-filling your own fresh H2O tank. Purchase 2 collapsible 5 gal fresh H2O bags, or plastic jugs to carry w you. By my own experience, if you come with a full fresh H2O tank, you will probably only need no more than 10 gals more. Conservation is key w 4 peeps over a four/five day period. Don't turn on your sink like you would at home and let the H2O flow. Everything that comes out of that faucet is going to another tank onboard.
The porta-potti situation is to be doubled this year. Ask those in your party to use them when they can. You are more than likely going to need a pump-out by Saturday. It's 60 bones.
Not tryna be crude, just realistic: Ladies cannot put feminine products into your black tank. That's all I will say on that matter.
Def pay attention when you pick up your rig. If you can, film the walk thru that they give you. Aint no way in hell you are going to remember everything they tell you. A re-play of the event is priceless in some instances. If you have questions, or need help, there is plenty of us here to do just that. We got your six, don't worry.

FYI, there are tank sensors that you can view on a panel inside the rig that tell you how full your tanks are. You should not rely on these for they grey or black water since they are almost never accurate. "Stuff" gets on the sensors rendering them useless. Your grey water will back up in the shower/tub first. Thats when you need to stop using water.

also you sometimes need to adjust your leveling--even get a little out of level--to prevent the sensors from going off too soon.

some friends and myself were wondering how thorough the rv checks are getting in? do they rip everything apart? do they barley hassle you? what should i expect, were all trying to have fun but nobody wants to get caught with it.

It's minimal. They don't have a ton of time to spend looking thru your rig. You're gonna get asked if you have any glass, or any weapons. Just be cooperative, and keep your answers to a minimum. It's really more of a "Hey how ya doing" than an actual "inspection". They're just employees, it's not the actual fuzz doing the "inspections". You'll be fine. They're not going to be bringing dogs onto your rig. They are really looking for glass, weapons, and someone tryna bring like 20 cases of beer to sell.
