My plan would be to try and attach to end of a funnel, or to see if it will fit the containers I will use for carrying water. Any thoughts?
This contraption also works well for the pansies that cant finish the six pack that is poured in the funnel. Just turn it off and pass it on.

Can anyone share ballpark how far you were setup from the power station in years past? Wondering if I'll be able to get away with this idea...

I think most of the manufacturers recommend that you place the protector at the source. The only time I have had to use anything more than my 25', 30 amp cord is if I was asked to turn my rig around so we could all be door-facing-door. While 30 amp cord extensions are ok to use, I would prefer not to use it. You should be fine with just one standard 20-25' cord.
I wouldn't come w/o an extension cord, or someone in your party have one that you could use if needed, but generally the distribution box that Lockn provides will work with the standard length cord. 30 days!

Questions (yes it's a flood, sorry):
I thought I read somewhere that you may be as far as 70’ from the power source. I have my RV power cable which is 20-25 and 25’ extension cord.
1) Is there any reason to invest in another 25’ extension?
2) How serious is the knife thing? This is in reference to kitchen knives being confiscated (which seems wholly ridiculous).
I bought an early entry GA RV pass.
3)a: Did they do the early arrival thing last year? 3)b: If not, is the RV line really that bad on Thursday AM? 3)c: If I’m pushing 8PM on Wednesday are they going to make me sit in line all night?
4)a: Is the grass situation that bad? 4)b: Should I consider bringing a weed whacker?
5) With all the power discussion, is the power situation really that flaky? How do they do it, just one big gas-powered generator for every X RVs?
6) Anyone have any pics of what the RV camp section looked like last year?

2. In four Lockns, four Roos, and three Floyds, no one has ever looked at our kitchen knives.
3. Yes they did early entry for RVs last year. It had some plusses and minuses.
4. I never had a problem with the grass. Last year we had way more clay than grass in high field.
5. Power not that flakey for a festival. It goes out once in awhile but I think it is up 99% of the time. They have a bunch of industrial generators and junction boxes.
6. Pics would just show a bunch of RVs in a field. Seen one, seen them all.
Post by southernman on Jul 24, 2017 15:34:56 GMT -5
The entry has changed pretty completely this year, so I don't think anybody can say what Thursday AM line is going to be like. I mean last year entry was generally good, so I am thinking positive things. This year it appears we are all going in together. But with the late start to music, everybody was in with plenty of time to spare last year.
Doubt they would cut you off at exactly 8pm, but again, no guarantees.

At L2, it was not an issue, the power was close to, it seems, everyone I saw in our area.
So it's best to bring along an extra cord.

Personally I would have a 50 foot extension along with the standard 25 footer (less connections the better). This should be plenty and should allow you to park head in to your space if you want to park door to door to your neighbor.
Knife search depends on the searcher. If you want to keep them i would bury them.
Yes they did early arrival. I expect the line to not be bad thursday morning but agin each year is different. Last year you could drive straight in at 11 am with no wait.
Grass could be bad, don't know. Weed whacker is not a bad idea JIC.
Power was actually very smooth even though it did go out one time due to bad fuel. Supposedly they used "green" generators running some kind of bio diesel fuel (??) Even though I didn't have a surge protector last year I will have one this year just to be safe.
YMMV...please don't feed the animals

Hopefully my refill problem is solved for $1. They also had a solid rubber mallet on a plastic handle (with no metal hooks) there as well, so even if it gets confiscated I'm only out $1.
