Randy Meisner, a founding member, bassist, and vocalist of the Eagles died last night (July 26, 2023) in Los Angeles at age 77, due to complications from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD). The news of his passing was announced by the band.

RIP Jimmy Buffet
Always one of my favorite shows every summer. I’ve seen Buffett about 30 times and never been disappointed. The crowds is a lot a “Jamband Crowd”, you get people from all walks of life and they all get along. He’ll be missed.

So odd how things happen, I listened to Jimmy for the first time in lots of years on Thursday night, just had the urge to hear 'A Pirate Looks at 40' and fell into the hole of a live Jimmy acoustic album.
In the early 90s my dead head journey was just starting, I was much more of a Parrothead then. Eventually the Dead took over and I drifted away from Jimmy.
Shortly after Jerry died I saw Jimmy at Bristow, Jimmy did a tribute and played Uncle John's Band. I may have shed a tear or two (or three) that night.
Thanks Jimmy!
People who say 'Go Big or Go Home' seriously underestimate my willingness to go home. Like, its literally my only goal.

Leftsetz did a long discourse on her, noting how important a figure she was in the Woodstock time, and a darling of FM album rock, and too bad about the disaster of "Brand New Key" for which she is too well known. I had (have) her albums when they came out (7th grade for me) and she was everyone's favorite Hippie Chick. But "Candles" has its serious somber side.
I recall her vegetarian ode "I don't eat animals and they don't eat me". And a really funny one on Psychotherapy.
