Today I'm Thankful For

My wife piloting our rig safely home, a beautiful couple without whom lockn wouldn't have happened for us this year, central air, a comparatively inexhaustible supply of moderately pressurized water, a thick slab of memory foam. So much more, but that's all which readily comes to mind.

not getting an OVI last night.


I had to walk a friend's dog last night and on my way back a Deputy Sheriff snapped a u-turn and followed me. He pulled me over for a bullshit rolling stop. I made very sure I completed a full stop because he was behind me. A few hundred feet later on go the lights. Out of the car, license, the dozen stock questions like where are you going, where are you coming from, have you been drinking? I answer bla bla bla walking dog, bla bla bla, one beer while walking. The other Deputy checking out the car noting the empty beer can(no garbage can where I was walking). Deputy #1 goes to his car, gets the breathalyzer, and says if you only had one beer you won't mind proving it to me. No problem I said.


I drank till 6:30am monday morning and had a buzz when I left the farm. Total failure if I had been tested then. So when the Deputy was readying the breathalyzer I quickly did the beer math. Ohio border cracked one to celebrate, got home two more while unloading and showering, one while walking equals four beers in about four hours. I should be good I thought but I couldn't stop thinking about the 70 beers I drank on the farm.


With shaking knees I blew and blew and blew. Boom. 0.03 Deputy #2 says "We're going to let you go with a warning, do a better job on those stops." I said Thank you(I don't know why I thanked them) and said I'll make my complete stops even "stoppier".


Fishing expedition and this fish jumped the hook. Truly thankful.

Being able to talk to all y'all in person. It's so important and often helps "clear the air" on things.

criticalbill for calling dibs on our campsite. It worked, we had the exact same sites as last year. The best in the VIP RV lot. We have already called dibs on the same sites for next year so we are set. I'm thankful for Andie Bee and Bob hosting our meet and great again. I thought it was awesome, more on that later. Thankful for Bill and wife and two other long time friends for camp mates. nigel and StillLifeStillDead and wife were also part of our camp. Thankful for so many people stopping by our camp and stopping me in the venue to wish me happy birthday Saturday. Thankful for the weather. Thankful for Dead and company as a hometown show. Thankful for all of you who are part of my family and help to keep this crazy train running all year long. Thankful for late night GrilledCheeseIncidents.

Lockn'! Otherwise, I never would have found this forum and all you crazy, freaky, kind people. Life is good.

The smell of smoke coming from my neighbor's chimney as I take my dog for a walk on a crisp fall evening.

Sit your children down, take away their cell phones and have them know this most important piece of Americana. It's when you mention "the Group-W bench" and they look at you with a blank stare.

Today I'm also thankful for not having to go to the previously mandatory family holiday event. Thankful I no longer have to watch <<bitching about family removed>> Thankful to be able to sit around in my long underwear drinking beer, watching football, and online gaming all day long. Thankful because today I will start my dinner with ice cream and pie whenever the heck I feel like it. I'm thankful today I'll wake up long past when the Macy's parade is over and I will check Reddit to find out how many shots I have to slam to catch up on the drinking game. Thanky Givens to all of you.
