Third...a surprise visit home from my son. This was definitely the best Thanksgiving this year.

My dog's love. His name is Bandit. Took him in for an annual checkup this week. He needs a good bit of medication and one of his joints is a little crunchy. My vet recommended that he get on senior food. He's 12 and he's finally starting to act his age. He's my best friend and I dread the day I lose him. He's the best boy.

Great dog! God, Mother Nature, the Universe, or whatever had something in mind when creating the lifespan differential between dogs (some will say cats) and people. We have a dog that same age of 12+, and going through that experience right now. Also lost a just fantastic 9 year old dog earlier this year, and same experience about 5 years ago also at age 9. May you have several more years of good times with Bandit. There are a million and one funny and positive sayings about dogs, and they are all true with their favorite humans.

I don't remember who all was there, but you asked us if we wanted to take shots. I think it was right after the meetup. You pulled out a bottle that had been cooking in the sun all day. We all took the shot at the same time and almost died. It wasn't just room temp, it was like bath water HOT. I'll never forget it

Mrs. Mattthebig2 was diagnosed with throat cancer in the beginning of December and it has been a whirlwind ever since. She has gone through a round of chemo to see how the tumor would react. We are lucky to live near to the great University of Michigan for treatment and feel her care has top notch. So today I am thankful that after another scope the tumor has shrunk by 70 percent and means she can move forward with the next step of treatment. Very Thankful!!!

We just spent two nights and three days rain camping on the beach. We found about 2 pounds of agates and had a blast. We pulled a wagon full of beer and ice in (a real chore in the loose sand but so worth it). We came out for the Super Bowl but are both wondering if we should have got another wagon full of beer and headed right back in 🙂

Today I'm thankful that I wasn't my normal cheap ass and bought the road hazard insurance for my tires. The Yo-Yo weather(60 with thunder storms yesterday and 10 with high wind tonight) we are having around me is making the crappy road patches to puff up and come apart like microwave popcorn. I hit a wheel swallowing pothole that knocked my steering out of alignment and slashed a tires side wall. With the insurance I got a new tire for 1/3 the cost. It sucks having to get a new tire but as a consolation prize, when I pulled out my donut spare I found 5 cans of Pabst tucked behind it that I had missed retrieving after the Lockn vehicle check. Two had blown up in the Polar Vortex but I will be enjoying the other 3 tonight.
