Most of the rules can sound heavy-handed especially last two years* when things were tense, but are generally used to fix problems, not create them. Security going into the showfield is tight looking for weapons (thank you) and alcohol (the vendors thank you) and that's about it. But also the show field rules are designed to expedite entry, too, so they don't have to go peering into thousands of backpacks. That's not a bad thing either. Thanks for all of the tips! We're bringing a teardrop trailer so there aren't too many hiding spaces. I think we'll just bring 2nd hand things and drop them off somewhere before we arrive. We're camping in the Mama bear section and arriving on Wednesday so we'll see all of you soon!

It was on the forbidden list last year as well. I had one in the Forest area, and nobody said anything. There is more space between campsites there so runoff is less of a problem. And I am always careful of where it drains, I would not want someone else's shower water running through my campsite.
I also typically use less than 3 gallons, running intermittently, to take a shower with my sun shower, so it's not THAT much water to soak immediately into the ground.
Also my 'shower stall' was 3 tapestries in a triangle, not one of those foldup change booth/shower stalls that stick out like a sore thumb in the car camping areas. The tapestries blend into the mix. (Plus, due to the availability of convenient trees, one side may be low enough to allow your head and shoulders to be exposed so you can watch all the people go by while you are naked. - Not an everyday experience for me! But I make sure the tapestries are secure - there are young people there, and to give them such a glimpse into their future is not pleasant to contemplate. Some things, once seen, can't be unseen...)
I also think that you won't have any problems unless you are:
1. Being a jerk, with your water annoying you neighbor.
2. Camped next to the road where the security does not have to get out of their vehicle and walk to find you.
3. Taking 30 minute showers with a river of drainage leading to your shower.
If you at least try to be discreet you should have no problems. I think this is a widely ignored rule that is only enforced when there is an issue of some sort.

The rule about outdoor showers is actually required by EPA / VDEQ regulations. It's considered "grey water dumping."
We had one last year, too, and didn't have any issues. But they were less than 1 gallon showers and the run-off never left our campsite.

My experience with Lockn' security (other than year 1, when it was a mess) has been good, Everything seemed to be pretty much common sense oriented.. I think this is a widely ignored rule that is only enforced when there is an issue of some sort.
But then I usually get the 'old white guy' pass in the security lines. (IT"S JUSTIFIED! Most wookery happens after 2am and we are all asleep by then... LOL)

Well, not so much out and out wookery, but I am breaking some rule or other at almost every turn.Lucky you. I get the "old white guy trying to pull off some wookery" but then, I often am.
Having baby blue eyes surrounded by gray conveys innocence...
