2018 Prohibited Items

I don't get prohibiting glowsticks entirely. I understand not allowing an entire package of them because apparently some people have been known to throw them up on stage but people also wear them around their head, ankles, neck, and arms, etc. to keep from being stepped on in the showfield when sitting on the grown. We use to put a few on our chairs so people don't run over us (yes, that has actually happened).

I bet if you came in with the backpack part totally empty you would be OK. Then, once you're in, load your clear bag into it.

I wondered about that. We use very little water, so hopefully the complaint wasn't about ours. However, I did notice quite a few more people had them last year, so I can imagine the run off might be a problem. We've been using our set up 4 yrs. The two room structure allows us to have a stand up changing area which is needed due to our cot tent and also provides room for a luggable loo. Oh well, guess we'll just have to use Plan B for washing off. 

The "public nudity" was a small issue over a non-event by over-zealous ABC agents. But that is why the stakes are high--it's not the ticket for the nudist but it puts the whole festival's ABC license at risk.

Oh and leave those selfie sticks at home, you might put someone's eye out with that thing..

Here is the current list of prohibited items:

Large propane tanks (one pound propane cylinders and manufacturer installed propane in RVS are OK)
Glowsticks
Bundles of firewood/open flames
Motorized vehicles (golf carts, ATVs, etc.)
Pets are strictly prohibited (view service dog policy here)
Box trucks
Drones of any size
Paper Lanterns (aka Peace Lanterns, Sky Lanterns, or other floating lanterns)
Professional Cameras (ie.,those with removable lenses) and no video at all, without appropriate credentials
Helium or other pressurized gas tanks
Generators (no portable generators are allowed; generators permanently attached to an RV are permissible)
Public nudity is prohibited in the State of Virginia
Outdoor showers
Totems and Flags policy:
Must not exceed height of 7’

Backpacks and large bags are prohibited in the Show Field. Bag policy:
Empty hydration packs are allowed
Bags smaller than 4.5” x 5.5” are allowed
Fanny packs are allowed
Any bags larger than 4.5” x 5.5” must be clear

Coolers
Wagons
Glowsticks
Hammocks
Outside food or beverage
Tents or shade structures — small umbrellas are allowed, but only behind or even with the FOH/Soundboard.
Inflatable furniture and furniture larger than a standard lawn chair. Blankets and low-back chairs are allowed, but only behind “no chair zone”. No chairs or place holding on the VIP or other viewing platforms.
Selfie sticks
Public nudity is prohibited in the State of Virginia.

I like that they have bags listed before weapons as if the bags did something wrong. Also, they are so consumed with the clearness, they don’t state a size limit. So, I could bring a clear duffel bag, presumably filled with unclear backpacks, drones and nudity.

And since I am just bombing this post, am I wrong that this is not a public event? You have to pay for tickets, so is that not private? Should it state, “nudity not permitted when holding an ABC license”? Pedantic, sure, but pedantry is my raison d’etre...or was it obscure words?

Edit: some minor internetting has answered my question. If tickets are available to the general public, it is a public event. A private event would be invite only or only a set of people can attend (ie: licensed doctor, carpernter, etc.). So, if we can just get them to do invite only, we could all go in the buff apparently.

I have a clear dry bag the size of a small duffle. I might make secret straps for it--out of clear material of course.

Department stores sell "bed in a bag", comforter, sheets, etc. Those usually come in a clear plastic "suite case". They're huge. You might be able to bring in ALL your dildos and bibles with one of those.
