Juxtapose this about having to use Uber to get around with this statement out of the Festy's letter: " the carbon-footprint and waste produced by the event was driven by our remote location and lack of on-site infrastructure."

Soooooo which has a worse carbon footprint--driving to the festival, setting up camp and not moving your car for four days or bunches of people riding Uber back and forth to their hotel, which has a much greater carbon footprint than a tent?

I wish more people could think this way. In addition to your point, why would the waste be much different? I'm sure I make less waste cooking breakfast at my camp than the hotel/fast food fare in C'ville along with the energy to ship, store, prepare, serve and toss.

I think it's morally wrong when businesses capitalize on environmental consciousness in their marketing when their position is false or misleading. The plastic straw thing is like that.

I changed my "Think Globally/Act Locally" bumper sticker to "Think Globally--but think critically."
