As a fellow lab tech I completely agree. 
This is as LOCKN as it gets...
Don't you mean this is as LockDown as it gets?? Maybe that's what we should change the name of the festival to. I'm a lab tech--I wonder if they'd let me volunteer to help do the in house Covid testing in exchange for free admission?? Nah....it ain't worth it.

so few answers...How low would attendance have to be in order to social distance the show field?
1/3 of a normal lockn attendance?
And it mentions the field sections will be filled on a first come first served basis, how will it work if you come late and cant get in to the show field? Will you get a refund for the day? Are you supposed to just go back and sit at camp for the day? And what if you get onto the show field but then get hungry and go get something to eat?
Soooo many questions.

I think at this point Lockn' is grasping at straws and trying to do anything they can not to cancel. They just need to accept the inevitable and do the right and responsible thing. Rip that bandaid off and shut 'er down...so few answers...How low would attendance have to be in order to social distance the show field?

Just got an email with the conditions of the event insurance policy. Pandemic is explicitly excluded.
I’m interpreting this as they have no intention of canceling and those of us who are not comfortable with the measures being taken are SOL.

They could still cancel and cut their losses, depending on sunk costs to date. The longer they wait, the worse for them

Does anyone know if the existence of this sort of setup in October, or anything else outlined in Lockn's email, has anything to do with what the Commonwealth of Virginia is saying about what is and likely will be permitted within its borders? Isn't this kind of like saying here is our really great and safe plan for how we are going to launch a crewed rocket into space from our big 'ol farm without checking to see if, like, you're even allowed to do that?

Kind of seems like they are taking the temperature of folks to see if anyone would be willing to deal with these new guidelines. Any live music in a pinch. Though Lockn' prices are a bit hefty for garage bands. But I'd still go. Thankfully I've never been able to afford the ridiculously expensive VIP/SVIP options, so I'm not losing quite as much if the lineup degrades.to watch a garage band from Staunton

Dean Sottile Ok, before everyone feels high and mighty about throwing rocks, the folks at Lockn are working with HHS on the plan and strategy. It would most likely require their approval. Ultimately, they would like to have a statement from Fauci. It might not be as far fetched as you think. If you see it happen, you can apologize later...

I put in for my refund today. The way they've handled it, it's not worth it to roll my tickets into next year. They don't deserve my trust and they've lost it.
Roosterwalk on the other hand announced (and granted, they were an early fest on the calendar) the cancellation of this year, made it easy to get a refund OR roll it over for next year, and according to Johnny, the fest owner, 75% of ticket holders did.
I'm very disappointed with Dave & Co.
