Great points, and I hope they don't miss an early opportunity to promise or announce the next full fest, whenever that can be.  Even first though, I hope they find carrying on the full fest to be a feasible model for them.  I would like to think that it is workable, and letting fans know that would be a great good faith effort.

Good lord. I finally just looked to see how much it would cost. $499 for an RV pass for a 3 night festival?!?!?!

I'm actually relieved that I can't go. Because the TTB weekend alone would have cost us almost as much as the full Lockn' with early entry.

I suspect they jacked up the prices to make up for last year's losses and carrying costs, and are relying on the pent-up demand to sell enough.  I am NOT endorsing this strategy. It may be that if they planned on lower attendance including due to a capacity limit, they have to raise tickets to cover the expenses.  Who knows; we never will. But expect this everywhere for everything post-pandemic.  Try to rent a car lately?

I am still not getting the economics of it. So three unique events capped at 6k. Let's just say same price per person. Economies of scale would suggest that doing one show with only 18k people would be cheaper and surely less back office work. Yes, there will be less vendors, but they are actually a revenue stream as they pay the venue. In aggregate, there may be slightly less overhead on acts, but with undercard, not sure. If there were no event caps or fewer weekends, I could see a profit or lower complexity argument, but I feel like I am missing something on the maths. Are they still paying large rent to the race track for the Festival overflow and the 6k keeps him on owned land? Feels like a wash, or at least less cost efficient, even if somehow more profitable. But I don't do this for a living.

Right, so that is why I don't understand how 18K/3=money maker. Could be the 6K is not an actual cap, just a rumor.

I've been fortunate to be able to do Baby Bear RV with my 19ft Class B, so I forgot the higher price of mixed RV under one price point.  I know the qualifications for Baby Bear cut most folks out from that class, and it is not available this August.

I forget, has there ever been an option for no hook-up RV camping?  I know VW vans can work for tent car camping areas, but I believe no type of full scale RV.  

I do suspect, campground rates probably grew for RVs in many areas in 2020.  

We're in for JRAD, as half my crew is driving kids to college TTB weekend.

The bitterness is fading, since I rolled over, the money's a wash here in GA-land... Speaking of GA-land I better start getting ready, (starts doing squats for shoulder-riders...)

Thinking of creating new boards for each event, new banner at top, get rid of countdown clock, etc. Freshen up and adapt. Need to to consult with Sneake first. Message being, we ain't going nowhere !!
