I haven't seen food or showers mentioned either but the VIP tickets are about $400 cheaper than for the festival (as they should be.)Looking at VIP tix for JRAD. I see refreshments listed but no food mentioned or showers. Doesn’t seem like the same VIP perks as in past years. Has anyone bought VIP tix already and it list something different?

I hope this new plan works out. It could be very sweet to have a relaxed weekend with small crowds and good music. Personally, I have the same reservations that a few others have: it's a long way to go (for me) to see bands that are fairly easy to see this summer in local venues. If the Goose weekend were four hours away instead of fourteen, I'd do that in a second. I see these "mini-festivals" as local events. If you live nearby, you're lucky!!
One thing about what coulda been: the lineup at Bonnaroo is fantastic and it suggests that Lockn' could have put together a terrific weekend even skipping Bonnaroo's headliners: Goose, Marcus King, King Gizz, Turkuaz (with Jerry Harrison and Adrien Belew--wow), Disco Biscuits, Jason Isbell, Primus, Greensky Bluegrass, My Morning Jacket, etc etc. Add WSP or JRAD and maybe Bobby (or Trey or TTB, Keller Williams, etc) and you've got a great festival, maybe reminiscent of the much-missed Vibes. Obviously we wouldn't see both festivals happening within a few weeks of each other, but my point is that Bonnaroo pulled it off and is selling out. I don't see why Lockn couldn't have done it. There are tons of great bands and something for all ages.

Well, I gotta say I'm pretty depressed, with a touch of indignation right now with this announcement. None of these weekends are gonna get me to drive 13 hours as I've done in the past for all but one year. Was really looking forward to getting back there after the year we've all had. Would've been helpful when planning 2021 vacations to have known they had no intention of having an October festival.

I agree... Hulaween & Summer Camp put together lineups for late summer, early fall festivals. (Granted those events have anchor bands) FloydFest put together a lineup in Virginia, Peach just rolled theirs over but it’s legit & 90 days before Lockn. All of those festivals are selling out. And then there’s that Mempho Festival the same weekend as Lockn was planned that pulled WSP, The Avett’s & Billy Strings. There was a lineup out there to be booked, and a damn good one. They had to have just waited too long to book the bands they needed to book. IDK what other plausible reasons they could have had.

GA RV is $150 more than for the festival. We'll save only $9 for 4 tickets & ADA RV for 3 days rather than 4 days plus Early Arrival on Wednesday for 4. Still happy they are doing something and glad to support it. Welp, fuck. Way more bummed than I thought I would be. Sounds like Lockn is done for good. Took a quick glance while at work and thought camping was included with the $200. JRAD is my bday weekend and would love to see TTB and Lettuce. After finding out it would be $350 + fees for each weekend, I'm out. I only paid $450 for GA and camping for Lockn.
Will be putting my refund toward paying off the rooster bill and possibly upgrading a couple of pieces of camping gear.
This sucks, ya'll

We were supposed to celebrate your Bday at Jam Packed Craft Beer and Music Festival on Brown’s Island. Welp, fuck. Way more bummed than I thought I would be. Sounds like Lockn is done for good. Took a quick glance while at work and thought camping was included with the $200. JRAD is my bday weekend and would love to see TTB and Lettuce. After finding out it would be $350 + fees for each weekend, I'm out. I only paid $450 for GA and camping for Lockn.
Will be putting my refund toward paying off the rooster bill and possibly upgrading a couple of pieces of camping gear.

Well it's apparent that they're well aware I'm not the only one who's SUPREMELY pissed off over this situation, but where was this efficiency back when people were actually suffering? Actually worse optics, if you've been following along at home.

I too am super bummed. While we heard for years that the fest was more passion project than money maker, perhaps the cost of the COVID shutdown in all the other venues made this decision unaffordable.
Was hoping to do at least 2 of them but at these prices, I’m probably only doing TTB at most.
Hope they make enough off of these shows that the passion project returns, but not getting my hopes up.

TTB for us. The best part is our lockn' camping friends from WV and our other close friends who have been to three lockns are coming, too. I am sorry so many former attendees will not be able to come. I will miss you.
