Still too early...

Still no rumors?  Not even the ubiquitous unsubstantiated ones?  Not even for future nano-Lockns like in 2021? Nobody posting their fantasy lineups and to-the-minute schedules of fantasy line ups?

Winter is coming.

Well, the reddit says it's for sure happening, so you can take that to the bank!

If it’s gonna be in the early summer then I would expect an announcement late January, if it’s staying in the fall then they got til 4/20 or so and if it’s gonna be 3 day weekends then I would expect the announcements to come with the band’s tour announcement, not directly from Lockn.

I think it’s gonna be 3 day Headliner level “Single Band Centered” weekends (Billy Strings, Avett’s, WSP, MMJ, TTB, etc…) in May/June, a Phish Festival in August & then maybe another early fall run of Single Band weekends from 2nd tier bands (like Twiddle’s Tumbledown, Pigeon’s Domefest, Goose again… maybe Gathering of The Juggalo’s, IDK.

If they move away from the pure Jamband/Dead acts to a newer lineup….

I’d love to see Eddie Vedder’s new band at Lockn. They probably aren’t as much as Pearl Jam but would still sell. Maybe have Vedder do some sit in’s throughout the weekend, here & there. If they could get Pearl Jam, then they should do that, but IDK if that’s doable.

Also they should book Dave Grohl, I’m not the biggest Foo Fighters fan but it’s better than Nickleback. If they could get Grohl, Krist & Beck to do a Nirvana Tribute set like they did a few years ago that would Fuck So Hard. Beck would be a great act on the lineup too.

Maybe Jim Jones solo again & My Morning Jacket to headline a night, throw in the Avett’s on Sunday, Billy Strings late night all 3 nights and you got a show I pay $350 to see.

Plus my fingers are crossed for a Phil & Juggalo Friends Set, or Juggalo’s & Company or Joe Russo’s Almost Juggalo Cover Set. I got my Faygo Moon Mist & I’m ready to rage with all The Arby’s Managers that will show up. WHOOP WHOOP!!!!

I dont know how they do it but ICP packs em in at Legend Valley, 20000-25000 a day. I think Virginia's nudity laws would be way to restrictive.

In all fairness they could do a 3 night run w/camping and not call it a festival, Dicks Style, then do a festival next year as well at Lockn or elsewhere. If they just advertised “Gamehendge Saturday Night”, they’d sell out in 30 seconds regardless of price. I think it’d be cool if for their 40th they went back to Big Cypress, since Loring & the Clifford’s Ball site are both gone.

Another thing that would make sense for Lockn would be a partnership with FarmAid & make the Farm the permanent venue for the event. Neil Young owes Shapiro a solid for 2013 anyways. I’ve been 3 times & it’s always a blast. Neil, Willie, Dave Matthews & Mellencamp are solid every year.

I've put out some feelers but one of my sources has not heard anything yet either. Usually their contract has started by now but not this year...

I hope something comes up **soon** to assuage my less-than-hopeful feeling.

Rumor has it that Billy will be back at Legend Valley again this year, after the success of last summer’s shows.
