Wilco pulled off a great Friday night show in a downpour at Solid Sound 2011. I'd prefer to stay dry of course, but I know I can still have fun in the rain.

If it rains heavily on Thursday while people are driving in, it is going to be a disaster. The grounds at Oak Ridge are not going to be able to sustain thousands of cars tearing up the grass and creating lots of mud. The infield where the stages are located are also going to be very muddy.

Finally, if you were hoping to ride those "taxis" around the festival grounds...you can forget about it. Last year the golf cart we were riding in got stuck going to and from the Triangle Stage and it hadn't even rained! The area around the Triangle Stage will be a mess if it rains heavily.

For those of you wishing some rain...you better watch what you wish for! It is NOT going to be fun if you have rain over the course of several days.

I dont mind a little rain as long is its not continuous and/or impacts the schedule. Also if it could hold off until I have my camp setup, that would be great! I remember pulling up to rothbury and just beginning to setup my tent when it started to downpour.. that was fun lol

noaa.gov calls for showers mainly between 2PM and 8PM tomorrow.. hopefully that will give the majority of people a chance to get in and park before the rain arrives.

Not sure what forecast you are looking at but there isn't any rain for Thursday except for a chance for storms (the least percentage all weekend). Around here that doesnt happen until the sun heats up in the afternoon and we get an evening storm. I think we will be fine moving in Thursday. It will be humid and hot as can be though. The kind of weather that you just sweat sitting still in five min.

The rest of the weekend is a chance of storms also, so it will be hit or miss. As for Sunday, yes that will be the biggest chance for rain all day. Fingers crossed it all moves out a day and we will be fine!

Also the forecast is calling for Fog Thursday morning, so please drive carefully! As that can be sketchy in the hills of 29 on before sunrise.

I've had far too many Wakarusa's cut short/chopped to pieces due to rain & weather, the less the better IMO. Luckily I'm prepared for the worst.....but I'm hoping for the best. I'd much prefer heat over rain. Once things get to a certain point mud-wise it becomes a rather large buzzkill. Keeping fingers crossed!!
