I have a propane stove and I got tired of runnin through all of those 1 lb cylinders and them ending up in the landfill, so I got a 5 lb refillable one. The website says "large" amounts of propane (quotation marks mine--it's kinda hard to do "air quotes" on a message board) prohibited but I was told on FB that wasn't too much. In the big scheme of things, the stated rules, history, and rumors probably helped keep the bad stuff out. While the kitchen knife and hammer rule is overboard IMO, no glass is a good idea, generally, and by appearing to ban every kind of knife, less likely a wook would have his badass blade or ninja sword around.
I kinda enjoyed the dual challenges of packing to comply and dusting off my smuggling skills.
I have no complaints with the way they did a perfunctory search to stay in compliance--I came in with no one in line and they could have gone all TSA on me but all they did was look in the doors and peak in a cooler by lifting the top an inch.
sometimes it's good there are rules best honored in the breach.

Yep! That would be them. I never did see them anymore in the venue. Hahaa honestly, I wanted to keep going until the shine was gone, but I'm glad I was able to save it for Phil.
It was grate meeting you guy's too! I had a blast in the field.
getting up at 6am Wed, going all nite, and thursday too I eventually crashed 38 hours later and completly missed everything after 8pm on thursday. I was bummed, but I ended up getting 12 hours of sleep in my tent.
