Just checking out forum. On searches, we have rv and we were just waved on through. Pretty cool. We did notice in ga rv , there were two guys using hand held lights for signaling each other, and Walkie talkies to communicate. They were up to no good. Thieving. We watched them for a while. They were actually going to roll a guy that was passed out, until they noticed us. So watch the thieves.

Would I be able to take GoPro camera onto the Show Field? I'd probably mount it onto a chest harness. It doesnt have a removable lens as prohibited in the rules so wondering if I am a good boy and only film fans and not the bands would I be in the clear

On one hand, they want to ban professional (lens) cameras. But new this year: no video. So even though all cell phone cameras take some video, yours is a video camera and I bet some of the checkers will deny you.
Maybe lose the regalia on the way in so the camera looks more like a smart phone? Call attention to something else--arrive with a beer can in hand even if you just trash picked it.

I dont have a beer in hand until I pull into the waiting lot, but I have had one going through security every time

His photo is a big clue of self-identity. So to your point, it's not what box but what barrel one puts him in.
The notion of the beer can diversion came from a pro tip from one of our esteemed members; I will refrain from recounting that tip lest some Dwight Schrute types who will be working the gates may trawl these posts for techniques--the same reason I won't disclose some of mine, here.
Of course if you are arriving at Chug Point Charley, drink in hand, anyway, you are equipped--other than that thing on your chest there.

Do they actually search you or just your car? Hypothetically speaking if I had a little bag of goodies in my pocket could that turn into a problem?

I've never had them search me personally, just the car.
Depending on the person searching, that can be pretty thorough or very cursory. We have had to get out so that they could search the cab before.
I have seen people get out of the car with day packs on their backs. No issues.

They may do a cursory check on pockets at the entrance to the show field, and they check packs there.
On arrival, as said, the focus is on the contents of the vehicle.
Last year there was a brief period when dogs were seen at the entrance but there have been no reports of them being used for searches.
