Sue's getting the postal m.o.'s right now, and we have plenty of 3x5 index cards and #10 envelopes, so it should just be a matter of getting them filled out right and in the first outgoing mail on Tuesday. Is there anything we're missing? Any tips or tricks that have worked for you in the past?
At least they take Western Union m.o.'s now, so you're not completely fucked if you don't get to the Post Office by noon today...

the last time I did mail order was for Stones tickets at RFK stadium, July 4, 1972. $9, no heinous service charges back then.

Just follow the instructions carefully. As I recall artwork only helped for New Years shows. This is first come first serve by postmark. You'll be fine. I'm not a smart man and I did a lot of mail order and never got cast off or down graded and never stood anywhere with one finger up. You'll be fine!
In the interest of truth and full disclosure I never stood anywhere with my index finger up. I have on numerous occasions stood there with one finger up (~);}.

Also, even though this is in July, I feel ticket-wise it'll be the equivalent of a NYE run.

That's very kind of you to note. That's gonna be EXTREMELY limited though, and since I'm more or less ambulatory I'll leave that for the folks in wheelchairs.

Light and love, see you all in Chicago.

I requested just the GA Pit for all three days. I am considering a travel package if this doesn't work cause it guarantees pit tix. Going to drop it in the post office drop box this evening after 5 so it goes out first thing in the AM.
One question though, all my stamps at home are "forever stamps" do I need to go to the post office and request a certain $0.46 stamp or whatever it was the video said? Or would I be OK just sticking two stamps on there to make sure. (Really wish they would have let us use some standard technology but oh well).

That occurred to me today as well. First, it's 0.49; they got it wrong in the video. I'm sending forever stamps. If that gets mine bounced, so be it.

Also, just be aware that the time does not matter--only the date stamp. So there is no advantage in dropping it in a box tonight, in fact I would say just the opposite, go tomorrow to the actual post office is best if you can swing it.
Also, if you need hotel (hotel especially) you should have already done it. I booked Friday at the Courtyard River North. Same room that I booked Friday for $189/night is now going for $445/night.
We are trying for pit, which is where we really want to be, but also willing to accept the reserved yellow section. Will try to other options prior to getting the nosebleed, though.

Also, if any of you guys get more tickets than you need, please don't put them on stubhub. Use cashortrade.org, or resellf them here or fan groups on Facebook or wherever. Profiting from your fellow fans is not part of the ethos of this movement. Face+Fees is what you should ask for them.

My boss is actually putting in for the mail order as well and I am sure he will be spending the money for good seats. He said if they hit the mail order I can have a set cause they are putting in a few different mail orders for tickets.
I know it said the postmark date was all that mattered, but I think having my envelope go out with the morning mail as opposed to afternoon may give me a little extra karma.

4. #10 SASE
a) Include in your order a #10 self-addressed, stamped envelope with a regular 49-cent or forever stamp.
b) A 70-cent stamp is necessary if you order 8 or more tickets.

She also told me nothing will leave here with tomorrow's post mark until 6 PM (!), and that today being a holiday, I could mail it anytime between now and then and it would have the postmark.

I used our printer's envelope function to print some iconography on the outside. Cheesy, I know. I hope they don't bounce mine for the sheer crassness of it all.
