I'm thinking of doing VIP this year. But I want to car camp- what am I missing here, I can't seem to find an option to purchase VIP car camp pass? I know I'm just missing it, but I have looked like half a dozen times. Can someone point me in the right direction?

When u put a vip ticket in your cart it will give u the option to buy the vip car camping pass.

So the map I found from last year doesn't exactly say where VIP tent only camping was located. Was it in the same area along with car/RV VIP?

When you are receiving your shoulder rides, the best way is to grasp either the air or the ears...if you grasp the neck you could choke your bearer and it will end your ride. Trying to get a grasp on how best to do this...

It is a strip right in front of the stage. It runs all the way in front of both stages where you can enter from both sides. No one else in front of you. Great for pics & they have a tub of water & pop in ice for free. The only thing sometimes the sound goes right over you so sometimes I go out to GA were it sounds better.where is the SVIP viewing area? thanks

Probably as many as they can. It was not very crowded to the sides last year. Middle of the stage got pretty tight.thanks we are doing SVIP this year and it is our first year here. Any idea of how many svip tickets they sell?

Not sure but not crowded. Had a nice sized camping spot last year & everyone spread out. Never had a problem getting a seat for lunch or supper. The most crowded I saw it was when Bobby Weir played a solo acoustic late night set in the tent. One of the nice perks. When you see my flag, to the left, make sure you stop by so we can meet. thanks we are doing SVIP this year and it is our first year here. Any idea of how many svip tickets they sell?

Yeah, down front is great for pictures, or if you literally like being sweated on by the band, but almost anywhere else is better acoustically.

Hey all ballers, other fest vet looking to do Lockn for the first time this year. My wife and I def are doing poverty VIP, but now we are looking at camping options. Anyone here do either VIP Glamping or VIP tent rental last year? I talked to CID and they were pretty vague and basically all they could tell me was that the Glamping tents were "nicer" inside than the regular tent rentals. Anyone here have any experience with either one of these? Are they in different locations, have different amenities, etc? From what I got out of CID, it seems unlike glamping at other fests, you still use the same showers, bathrooms, etc as the rest of the semi-washed VIP masses (cant use unwashed there, since everybody is VIP is paying for showers
)

I've done the tent rental twice and been happy with the tent both times. Not sure if the glamping is worth the extra cash.

I looked at the tents set up near me in VIP car camping--the ones with the furniture in them.
The set-up was less crowded than my area, and therefore quieter, less interaction with other campers. The tents and furnishings looked nice; the tents weatherproof and allowing privacy.
I enjoyed setting up my own rig and was probably as comfortable, other than dealing with the downpour. I couldn't justify the additional costs under my circumstances.
My opinion is that with the higher cost, I'd consider the already set-up rig if I were flying in or other convenience reasons, or for comfort for those who are not as spry, or for a non-camper with no equipment and experience setting up a campsite.
I saw the rows of regular tents set up in another area but they looked pretty ordinary and did not explore the features.

After years of going to festivals I have a nice roomy set up & they give you plenty of room to set up in SVIP. I'm just not sure how my health will hold up for putting it all up. I should still be good to go for a couple of years but I would entertain getting one of those tents but you have to have 2 people. I may email CID in a couple of months & see if we can work something out. I'm also looking in to getting a RV. So many choices & so little time.

A major factor on the decision tree is this: camping is fine when the weather is fine, but when the weather is miserable, camping is miserable. However, an RV is impervious to miserable weather: hot (L2), cold (L3), windy/muddy (L3), driving rain (L2, L3), locust plagues, rivers of blood (L Genesis).

2nd year, very short walk from VIP RV to stage. 3rd year, walk from VIP RV was much much longer. In fact they put us outside the race track much closer to the little stage than main stage. Many GA RV had shorter walks than we did.

I wish they would do single tent rental at a decent rate. Been bringing doing the SVIP RV all three years. If it made financial sense, would rather do a tent. After the cost of the svip have to do what ever is cheaper tent/rv. I do have one big complaint about svip last year. I have to leave Sunday usually by 9 to be home for work Monday morning. The location in 2015 made leaving crazy. They do not have a back exit out, so I had to drive the rv around the track trying not to hit drunk people walking to the main entrance. Drunks had moved all of the cones leading people out, so I then had to turn around in the crowd of people. Sent letters to CID and Lockn and hope this year they will resolve this. That being said the SVIP locations make it worth if for me. We get to park on the actual track in a nice flat lot with no ruts. The bring in grass turf to walk on between each camper. I am able to run back to the rv between sets. The shoulder rides are great as well.

Smosey Wales says "when the weather is miserable, camping is miserable". I didn't have any problem at all. I have a stand up tent which sets up under a 10x10 EZ up. I always put sealant on the canvas & the stand up tent also has a roof. So when it rained last year it just helped put me asleep. It helps if you take care of your camping equipment, I like my comforts.
