Advice for fellow Momma Bear RVers - the vegetation growing in High Field can be "stalky" in places and even with the pre-LOCKN trim, you could have a big pointy thing all up in your party space poking your feet, plastic mat be damned...

Do what I did last year - bring a weedwhacker. Get your rig level, then zip zip zip and you've got a cushy space to work with (and be prepared to help your neighbors, the sound of mine at work brought forth an envious horde queuing up for their turn.)

They're really good about making sure RV folks have room to maneuver and are comfortable getting into a spot. Typically you'll have the option of whether you want to pull through or back in.

Basically they assume everybody is a newbie RV driver.

You won't have any issues.

Time to rent! I've heard the Petersburg RV place has sold out of some popular sizes. Some rental places will deliver the vehicle near or even on site and also drive it away for you.

Wondering what might be the best time to try to get in and avoid the lines? We are staying at an AIRBB in Lovingston for the few days prior to the fest and he is meeting us there to travel to the fest together. Does it get backed up pretty good on road 29? Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

For anyone renting an RV, I spoke with Melissa this morning from Frontgate, and she said that if you rent an RV and the person renting it wants to set it up, that is fine. They just have to arrive with you to have your ticket scanned, and it's no problem.

I would strongly recommend Wed. early entry. The gates are open from 4 pm to 8 pm on Wed. Get in, get set up and then just chill/party/meet friends both new and old and Thursday you wake up on the farm already setup and ready to go!

We thought about Wednesday. We are leaving Chicago Monday and arriving Tuesday and staying in Lovingston until Thursday morning. Hoping to be in by 9AM Thursday. Going hiking at Shenandoah National Park and going to try and hit up the appomattox. Promised the wife we would do a few other things Tuesday and Wednesday before festing it up.
