Yes. I was there a little after dawn and was in one of the 'holding pens' ....what a hassle. This is what the site says: •Dedicated Festival Check-In with Improved, Hassle-Free, Private VIP Entrance And I was reassured by the CID pm that it would be less of an issue this year. I think she said SVIP will actually have it's own line - not sure and don't want to start rumors Please note: This forum is in no way officially associated with Lockn' Festival or its promoters.

Just stumbled across a post from Lockn' on Facebook that said they're going to try to open the gates at dawn on Thursday. That's great news!

I hate to be a downer, but if they are "going to try" to open the gates at dawn, this isn't a good sign (especially if attendance is up this year). Opening at dawn would only be a few hours earlier than last year (sunrise around 6:45). For anyone who was there last year, it was obvious that just two or three hours wouldn't have been enough to completely fix the problem.
I've said it before, Bonnaroo doesn't do a full day on Thursday for exactly this reason. Attempting to get the entire festival population processed, searched, and parked in under 12 hours is completely unrealistic.
Assuming 30,000 patrons, at three patrons per car, that's 10,000 cars that have to go through the tollbooths. If gates open at 6:00 am and music starts at 4:00 pm, that gives them ten hours to get everyone inside. 1,000 cars per hour? Not happening.

I hope this doesn't turn into another VIP, GA clusterfuck like I've seen at other festivals roo is thirteen years and they're STILL working out entry kinks that constantly pop up.

Wednesday set up would be nice. Likely dawn entry with all the staff and arrangements ...and I'm sure fees an extra day would cost.

SVIP and VIP did have their own entrance last year. Their lines came in through a backdoor entrance near where the triangle stage is located. We got in line there ~9 am last year, and it took about 2.5 hours to get through. Good chance this will be the VIP entrance again this year.SVIP and possibly VIP will have their own line. 
Last years cluster and subsequent complaints where probably to thank.

Once again I would pay more to get in on Wend. If it has something to do with the taxes, charge us. Or if they don't want to extend the licence by a day they should know it would help move cars in a little better.

speaking of which, i dont remember any bathrooms in the field of sorrow last year. it's easy enough to pee in a bottle if necessary, but what does one do when they gotta deuce it up? hate to be crass, but when you gotta go, you gotta go.

They did bring in some portas to the field of broken dreams, but quite late in the afternoon. Too little too late, if you ask me. Sue had already found a shack to pee behind, and I watered our tires several times.

I'm not sure what field you guys were in, because I clearly remember using a porta potty last year before gates were even open. There was a strip of them not too far beyond the Will Call/Ticketing booth.

The field was huge. The porta potties you used were not even in our sight lines.I'm not sure what field you guys were in, because I clearly remember using a porta potty last year before gates were even open. There was a strip of them not too far beyond the Will Call/Ticketing booth.

So Mccjeff are you suggesting that lockin put in its own exit? If so I have a question the road going into lockin doesn't look like it's a highway,is it busy like I87 here in easter N,Y,?
