Festy 2018 Oct. 5-7

Stringdusters announced today that they will no longer have any affiliation with the Festy. So who has the scoop on the lineup?

My understanding is that the management of the former Festy site feels the same way.  

My understanding was that the original contract was 5 years between Devils Backbone (orginal location), the music farm (promotors), one other individual, and the dusters.


The dusters extended their contract to 7 years (which ended this year)

Lockn folks also bought in two years after first contract ended. 

It did happen last year and there is a save the date posted on DB site for September 28-30, 2018!

If that propane tank exploding didn't break it what chance do we have?

I think that was actually the tires on the burning van that were exploding. Pretty hard to make a propane tank explode. I think the pressure relief valve usually vents the pressure to the atmosphere if it gets too high. They will certainly burn for a while when those rubber hoses melt.

Anyone remember this rumor from 2014?

I do tend to have that effect on festivals.  Went to my first moe.down last year.  It's off the books this year.  I brought storms to Lockn' and they changed the dates to keep me away.  My first small local fest was Jam Along the Creek V.  Hasn't been held since.  A Bear's Picnic arranged for me to be hospitalized to keep me away.  My first time at Festy brought floods and fire.  Clearly they knew I was planning to come back...

You mean that wasn't part of the show, who'da guessed.

I know a guy in the festival business. I bet he'll give you free tickets to the competition's fests....

Hell yeah, everybody knows that when a car goes over an embankment the fuel tank explodes. And if it's the A Team it flips in mid air for no apparent reason. Actually on the A Team a vehicle can be standing still with no one in it and it'll flip for no reason. Because that's how good television works.
