I finally got tired of waiting and posted an inquiry on the Festy Facebook page. They said that early bird tickets and lineup teasers will be coming "soon." Color me surprised...
They also said prices should be a bit lower this year. To me this sounds like less prominent lineup.

It is the same people who brought you Lockn so...I finally got tired of waiting and posted an inquiry on the Festy Facebook page. They said that early bird tickets and lineup teasers will be coming "soon." Color me surprised...

I'm convinced that training for their social media representatives consists wholly of teaching them how to use the word **soon** as often as possible and is the only answer to any question...they need to learn how to under-promise and over-deliver, not the other way around...

Trying to decide on our fall fest, it's between This, Moon River fest in Chattanooga (The wife's choice), and Deep Roots Mtn Revival if that comes back. Hoping for that one since it'd be great to get back to Marvin's which has to be the best festival venue in the US aside from the Gorge but I ain't goin to Seattle.

Red Rocks doesn't make the top three?? I've never been to The Gorge but I have been to The Rocks . I would say that these two are one and two... Hoping for that one since it'd be great to get back to Marvin's which has to be the best festival venue in the US aside from the Gorge but I ain't goin to Seattle.

Telluride Town Park aint too shabby for Blues and Brews and Jazz festival.

That's what has me holding off. That and it being a city fest.
I really don't like the idea of not camping for a fest...Newport is the only one we do where we stay in a hotel (though I am doing Peach in a hotel this year because it's just me and I don't have it in me to lug all my stuff up and down that mountain for just me.

Newport shuts down at 7ish, but that's because of national parks rules for Rhode IslandRight around the corner from where my brother used to live in Franklin. It is fairly residential so it shuts down at 8:30 pm.

i don't really know anything but...rre, gsbg...and don't ask why i know
imo, festy has always been overpriced w/r/t the lineup but made up for it in overall experience. you could see (everywhere) where they were spending the money. so, i wouldn't necessarily conclude a dropoff in talent. yet.
i've been to the last five and expect i'll be there this fall.

I heard Willie sounding really good on a new Winton Maraslis Band album coming out soon where Marsalis collaborates with lots of singers/artists on old blues/swing tunes. Willie sang Milk Cow Blues and it sounded great. Today I heard TTB doing an old gospel/blues tune from the same project.
