Will Lockn' Actually Happen?? (POLL)

Amazon delivery personnel frequently cant manage to put a package on my porch, instead leaving it near the street or in the bushes. The likelihood of them missing my porch increases with the chance of rain.

I'm not going to give one a needle and offer up my arm as a target.

They should be giving vaccines at Elementary schools, most are closed, they have gymnasiums & cafeterias to do it, they already have a nurse on staff that’s probably laid off, every & I mean every zip code has one, they can augment the staffing shortfall with National Guard Personnel or nursing/med students or EMT’s. They could do it at Fire Stations or Post Offices as well, again every zip code has one. If freezers or special equipment needs to be made, the federal gov’t has the keys to the patent office, open that bitch up & start sending out blueprints to anybody that can build what we need, deal with the lawsuits later. It’s either a system like that or have the National Guard go zip code by zip code giving out the shots. The current system is a joke. Walgreens & CVS are a terrible option. If I ask for a prescription to be filled they say it’ll be ready in 3 days. They can’t handle this. They’re trying to sell Hershey Bars, Wine to old women, and make-up they don’t have the time or inclination to do this. It’s not gonna make them any money & they aren’t in the charity business. The solution to this problem is simple & always has been. But when you form a committee of private businesses, I can guarantee they’ll always come up with a answer where they profit. They’ll never say gov’t can do it better, that doesn’t help their shareholders. While I support Capitalism, the greater good is never its goal.

My sister is volunteering in one of the shot centers; it's in a closed department store with lots of room but still there is a lot of waiting outside.

After you get your shot you have to be under observation for 15 minutes, so a real drive-thru doesn't work well. In North Carolina they were doing drive-thru (I guess they learned from Brew Thru!) but they made you go park for 15 minutes. BTW they suspended that op when they noticed all the cars has Va plates.

There is a lot of confusion, unanswered questions and scheduling issues, as well as major inconsistencies in how the vaccines are distributed; many of the places that are set up and scheduling appointments don't know if they will have the juice, or enough of it.

I think we all got a false hope of instant relief as the vaccines rolled out, until we realized the timing is measured not by a stopwatch but by a calendar.

I'm so glad to see people getting shots, I really am, but I'm getting very frustrated that my 80+ yo old parents have not been able to get theirs yet. I'm trying to be patient but let's get with it people.

It's frustrating to have to wait and the general position from the various administrators is "don't call us; we'll call you." And they are overwhelmed with those repeatedly calling for status. On the other hand, they often don't verify that your registration went through, and I know of major communications gapes.

For the old folks, hopefully they can stay put and out of circulation until they get the call. I can't imagine how hard it is for those who are alone, and old or impaired. That they run everything through computers and cell phones and email leaves a lot of people behind, including the homeless who are sane--my sister saw that at her clinic.

Patience patience patience. That's the only thing that will work. As I said before, we all got a blast of hope when the vaccines rolled out as if we'd all be OK in a few days. Tain't so.

If you are in Virginia:

Your best bet is going thru your primary physician.

Your 2nd best bet if you're of age with a pre-existing condition.

You can always roll the dice w/ your local pharmacy, they may get random shipments.

3rd best bet is taking your elderly parents on an afternoon hoping they have a few extra doses at the same time.

Otherwise, it's just simple supply and demand and we're all in the same boat.

Very important: when registering and they call you back, they aren't allowed to leave messages.

I would just go buy a burner flip phone at the gas station just for this. And when the “Bat Phone” rung, I’d know it’s my cootie shot callin. Well worth the cost.

With Legends Valley & Nelson’s Quarry both committing to shows in late Spring & early summer, all the small outdoor shows coming to B Chord in VA & other venues in NC, the shows they’ve had at Suwannee already, the Billy Strings Florida shows, Summer Camp moving to August & the big one, Red Rocks says 80% capacity by late summer (July) leads me to believe music will be back & Lockn will happen. It may have limited camping, be only 2 days or have a reduced lineup but I’m feeling better about it happening. I’m just glad that there’ll be shows to see in person again, I love the streams but I wanna see wooks stumble, find ground scores & yell “Free Bird” again.

I just saw where Bonnaroo’s site in Manchester is having shows in the end of May with Billy Strings & over 4th of July with the Avett Brothers. I think Lockn could do something similar. Have a couple weekends of 3 night runs in late August as a test run for October. I could see UM, TTB, SCI doing a run there & maybe a bluegrass lineup another weekend. That way they can see what works & doesn’t for the big show this fall.

Interested to see how the Bonnaroo venue does.  Are people really going to drive all the way out there to see Billy Strings when he's constantly playing and touring? we shall see.
