Welcome to the Lockn' Forum - The home of the original Lockn' Music Festival family!
I replaced my old one after L3 with this. I also got the full griddle and stove grate swap tops. I love it. I've done festivals sober before. And I go to A LOT of shows every year. I've been going to camping festivals for 16 years now so none of that is an issue. I really like my bloody Mary's at 8am. I really like morning beers. I've done festivals sober before. And I go to A LOT of shows every year. I've been going to camping festivals for 16 years now so none of that is an issue. I really like my bloody Mary's at 8am. I really like morning beers. As far as nutrition goes.....there are FAR worse things than some carbs from drinks. For example....festival vendor food. When I'm at a festival I'm usually about 90% raw anyways. And at home I consume fruits and vegggies for most of my diet as well. So that's not an issue. Please note: This forum is in no way officially associated with Lockn' Festival or its promoters.

We LOVE to host! Honest. Our parties are legendary.

Hey, I'm the Queen of Cool when it comes to speaking to The Man. lol I'm mainly worried about sneaking in extra bottles of booze. It'll be yes ma'am and no sir for me.
My husband loves to find new ways to hide things when we travel. He was so proud of his disassembled/reassembled deodorant stick when we went to NYC for NYE.

Whiskey and brandy.
As for your other question. You know how this works. Just like everywhere else. Don't show your ass when you pull up, don't flaunt shit in their face, be pleasant and helpful, have stuff buried so that IF they do open something at random things aren't laying on top in plain sight and you will be fine. They are not shaking anyone down and they are not using a fine tooth comb. The smooth flow of traffic into the venue is their main goal. Don't give them a reason to halt that process.
Sorry, I'm used to the police state known as Alpine Valley. lol

Also there was a mention of yoga? Are these and bike guides free or do you pay?

We have decided for sure we are bringing the Old Fashioned bar, so come one, come all.
Whiskey and brandy.

Since you have to have it in plastic, you may be decanting anyway.
If you put your liquor in the freezer before you leave home, then put it in the coolers, it won't freeze but it will help chill stuff. Likewise chill your mixers/juices.
No one has mentioned luggage yet... do they make you open your luggage? That's where I usually smuggle my extras, in a pants leg or two. I have a moderate sized suitcase I use to bring all my clothes and toiletries.

Lane died in a hospital in Memphis on September 26, 2003 of lung-related illnesses. His body was buried at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis.
Damn. So sad. I have psoriatic arthritis as well and yoga, physical exercise, and various supplements and vitamins have helped more than the year I used cortisone and various meds. I too bloated and was in terrible pain. I wish people didn't rely so heavily on modern medicine and take doctor's advice as gospel.

It was very hard not to add \m/ at the end of it.
So CLOSE!

To be honest, I'm looking forward to Grateful Gospel the most, right after seeing Ween of course. Sunday is going to be fiiiiiire, morning to late night!

My favorite wedding gift when we got married was a brand new jet black Weber charcoal grill, all my own. I can't wait to hand it down to my grandkids. We take grilling very seriously here.

I am really looking forward to all the local eats, that's what I spend most of my money on when we travel.

Keep in mind that at no point has there been any indication that there would be RFID chips in the bracelets.
So I’m not getting a ticket?
You will not receive a hard ticket as in years past. Instead you’ll receive an RFID wristband that will act as your “ticket” to enter the Festival. Be sure to wear your wristband at all times at the Festival.
Just me, but I consider that pretty good confirmation.

This is going to be mind alteringly good. I am going to get to hang out for not nearly enough days with some of the people I most love in this world. We are going to have untold adventures, see great live music, eat breakfast together, share beers, fix each other our best Bloody Marys, see a whole mess of you fine folks, meet countless strangers and share some of this thing we have and generally have the time of my life.
Hope everyone that does go has just as much fun.

nonetheless hope still remains, they havent said "final announcement" yet have they?
We got into this fest because it had a nice mix of jam and classic rock with some grass and reggae thrown in. Now the classic rock has been reduced to Peter Wolf* and the way Frey has been talking, it looks like jam may be on the way out too. For grass, all we get is Stringdusters sitting in with Phil (which will either be the amazeballs or a complete shitshow) and the same old shtick from Keller. Wailers are also shoehorned in, so no one can say there isn't any reggae. Seems like a lot of these categories are populated by "technically."
I like Phish okay. Same goes for Ween. But right now the only things I'm really excited about are JRAD and TTB. And TTB only because we sacrificed any stand-alone show funds for fests. Also seeing JRAD elsewhere (but since they get together infrequently, it seems a shame to not catch every show). All the undercard bands are pretty good, but so much funk! Funk bands are a dime-a-dozen these days, and we can experiment with unknown quantities in that area much more cheaply and efficiently.
I guess I'm back on the fence. I wanna see all you guys, but all that time, effort and expense just isn't worth it for two bands.
*Don't even start with your defense of Peter Wolf. I was a on-air personality at a classic rock station for several years, and I'm well aware that "Freeze Frame" and "Centerfold" are not necessarily representative of J. Geils sound. There's classic rock and then there's Classic Rock. There are bands like the Beatles, Floyd, Who and Dead that people would give their eye-teeth to see again, even if deceased members have to be replaced. I don't hear anyone clamoring for a Styx or Supertramp reunion, and that's the category J Geils falls into for me. At any rate, Frey saying that the Doobies weren't something they would ordinarily get unless it was an Incident and then putting Wolf in a prime time slot is absurd.
One last thing: if Dave Matthews is truly going to sit in with Phish, I'm definitely out. I have a rule that prohibits any of my money going directly to support of Matthews or DMB. Goes double for OAR.
