Peach Festival 2019

Says the only holder of a triple double secret ultimate intimate super VIP pass in the history of Lockn'.   (While declaiming from atop a GA's shoulders)

Actually, I thought it was a little weird as well.  But this is my first year there.  I'll report back after the festival.

Sounds very old person friendly.

The main stage is in a pavilion. Reserved seats = out of the direct sun, out of the RAIN (it always rains at Peach), and I have place to sit when my loose ankles get tired from all the dancing. 

While you wait for the "real" answers, I think if we meet up with Phil Lesh and String Cheese at Floydfest, and then you all meet up with them at Peach (or vice versa), then that counts as a Lockn Forum meetup.  

The Mrs. and I are making our first trip to The Peach and are interested in a little meet-up. We are not camping on-site if that make a difference.

Glad its next weekend and not this weekend.

At Peach, I know there is an off-site parking lot and a shuttle. I thought I read something about a gear drop-off option? Anyone familiar with how it all works in reality?

We’re located on Montage Mountain—so be prepared for hills, slopes and there’s a chance for mud if it rains. There is a free wagon service to get you from the camping/off-site parking lots to the campgrounds and the ability to have a vehicle drop your gear off as close as possible to your campsite.

How does that last part work?

We did Peach the year before last. Loved the festival, loved the reserved seat in the pavillion, HATED the camping. It was a total shit show. There is no "car" camping. You show up there with all you gear, carry it (or wagon/drag it, whatever) to one of the shuttle wagon stops. You HAVE to take the wagon shuttle, they will not let you walk in. The wagon is a flat bed trailer pulled by a truck or tractor. They pile those flatbeds full of people/coolers/gear, etc. and drop you off at the BASE of the ski slopes. You then lug all your crap UP the ski slope yourself and find a spot. It's a total free-for-all. We got there right when they opened and got a spot near the bottom of the slope. As they day went on people were forced to climb higher and higher up. It's virtually impossibble to bring everything in one trip. Hubby and I carried as much as we could, claimed a spot, then I stayed to set upt the tent while he went back for more. It took hours, the lines for the wagon shuttle were so long. We paid extra for some special parking to have our car (supposedly) closer so that we could leave extra food/coolers there. It was still a long ways. By night fall, people who arrived decided fuck it, they were not climbing to the top of the mountain and just jammmed their tents in whereever they could, literally touching other people's tents that were set up much earlier. Not cool. All the port-potties were at the bottom of the slope, so that was quite a hike for those farther up. It absolutely downpoured one day and that created a river rushing down the mountain. We fared ok but saw some people washed out, depending on where they were. It dawned on us that the whole stupid shuttle wagon thing was going to happen in reverse on check out day so we actually broke down one day early and were able to get a hotel room at the base of the resort for the last night to avoid that. People who did not get a parking pass "on" the mountain had to park off site at the minor league baseball stadium, haul all their shit on a school bus, ride up the mountain, disembark, get into the lines for the wagon shuttle, then lug it all up the mountain. No thank you. We now have a camper and I would consider going again if we did RV. That was not glamourous, it's just in a paved parking lot adjacent to the pavillion but at least there is no lugging your crap up a mountain.

You guys are making FloydFest look better and better! FF is a bit hilly also, but not a ski slope, for Pete's sake.

I will be at Peach, down to meet up with people. I'll be camping with the wooks on good 'ol montage mountain, not fancy enough for VIP. I usually try to enjoy the shows in the back rows of the pavilion. Sound is great, doesnt get too crowded, always plenty of room to dance, and a seat to sit in when you need to take a break.

If anyone has any questions etc about the festival let me know, this will be my 7th Peach so I'd like to think I know my way around. Its a great festival once you get past the load in and the whole sleeping on/hiking up and down a ski slope thing.

Two more days-cant wait!

Last year I went in early and got a free pavilion spot amongst the tapers. It was obscured view but they were great people(as tapers are) and they watched my shit when I went to the poverty rail.
