One down side to my Peach experience. My wagon was stolen from behind my tent. I had a lock, and a tree - but did I lock it? Nooo! Nobody will fuck with my stuff, right?
With hills and 2 shuttle rides to get out, a missing wagon is a nightmare for someone travelling solo like me.
But the Peach off-loading process was much simpler than the entry mess. With people starting to leave Sunday afternoon/night it was not the overwhelming rush of people. And there were lots of willing hands to help with my pile of stuff when I mentioned my wagon was stolen, as well as the staff helping as well to let me pile stuff at the head of the line.
[EDIT] But the joke was on them, I bent a front wheel during the load-in process. I hope it broke off completely when they loaded it up...
Crickets and cicadas sing... A rare and different tune...

I think Billy Strings stole the show which I thought he also did opening for Greensky at the Anthem. Have to try to get to Hot August Music Festival in Baltimore to catch him again. JRAD killed with the two drum setup. Taz saved Sunday for me.

I first heard TAZ in collaborations with other artists (particularly the Shakedown Street with Twiddle on YouTube). I thought he was amazing, and was really looking forward to seeing him at Peach.
But at Peach, he played a lot of music that was unfamiliar to me - I am assuming he was playing music he wrote?
I think he has some learning to do as a songwriter. (He certainly has time at age 16). I found those songs to be very technical with instrumental virtuoso and precision leading the way. But the songs did not GRAB me and make me want to leap out of my seat. (Metaphorically speaking - there were no chairs at that stage. )
His collaborations were/are blistering. Give him good music and he can shine like the sun. But the tunes he played that I did nor recognize (More on that in general in a later post) were, while technically very well written and expertly played, were not my favorites.
What did you think about that, Bird? Were you more familiar with the tunes he played and did you like them, say as much as a collab?
I was disappointed he was not on the bill as a roving collaborator at Lockn'. (Don't some other festivals do that?)
P.S. And yes, Billy Strings was just fucking great...
P.P.S. Thanks for the tip about the Hot August Music Festival - I just might add that one to the list.

I liked his covers, his originals (or at least songs I haven't heard before) were so so. I just enjoy watching his talent. Sunday was blah so somebody had to save the day for me. I definately enjoy his collaborations better at this stage. I do wonder if some of these festivals put sleepers on last set of the fest to get people to bed early.
