The Serious Eats Guide To Pizza In Naples
IDENTIFYING A NEAPOLITAN PIZZA IN THE WILD
My favorite kind of pizza! I've had a close encounter with "traditional" style pizza just 30 minutes from us, a place called il Ritrovo in Sheboygan, which also houses an Italian market and deli. Their brick oven was brought over from Italy and reassembled here. I'd imagine it's as close as you can get to the real thing.

We also have two anniversaries. On April 26th, 2005, after three weeks of drunkenly making out "secretly" in alleyways so as to not disturb the order of our social circle, one friend rolled over to the other friend and said "am I your girlfriend now or what?". The other responded "Sure." and then they both passed out. Thus, two friends became a couple.
And our friends totally knew the whole time.

Not. Funny.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. She performs at 3:00 on Wednesday at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. She's fourth chair flute and is my twin (minus twenty years) with long blonde hair so you can't miss her. I already told her someone I knew would be in town and may catch her performance, so if you're able to make it feel free to say hello. She's very friendly.

For me (obviously) it was Ween. It was on my radar but you're right, it takes certain acts to make some pull the trigger. My other faves (Brandi, Keller, Gary Clark, Phish) I can see anywhere. But when you put them all in one place AND add Ween, I am there come hell or high water.
Considering a solo six hour drive to see them in Michigan in June. Nick can't get off of work and its the closest they're playing next. It should be interesting.

Our youngest (Elise, 15.5 yo and a very talented flautist) is going away on Sunday for her school band trip to Boston. While I have always encouraged independence in her and she IS very independent, spiritually we are very co-dependent. She's very responsible and funny and smart. I want her to have every experience I did not, and am glad she gets to be with friends and have the time of her life.
But I'm starting to feel physically ill and anxious at her leaving. I thought it would be a good idea to go to Mexico while she was gone to keep my mind at ease, but now I think I made the wrong decision in case something goes wrong. Her dad and Nick will both be here in the US, and are more than capable of handling anything that comes up but...
Help me see everything will be okay. I won't see her for 8 days. I have never been away from her that long. How often should I check in with her? I already track the children with an app (which I only check if they're not answering and I need to know where they are).

With regard to brussel sprouts, I like mine roasted in olive oil with salt and pepper. Like asparagus and broccoli, they must not be overdone.

No but pro-tip for growing brussels: don't harvest until after the first frost.

I can't believe getting them cleaned and halved at our neighborhood grocery DOUBLES the price. Definitely worth a little prep, that.
I prefer to do the cleaning and halving myself in order to retain the loose leaves that come away. Those little suckers charred up and crispy are so good. I've been known to make crispy brussel chips in the oven. They're very good, but the prep time is a bit much.

Fly into Leonardo da Vinci Rome (FCO)
6 days Rome
2 days Amalfi
2 days Naples
5 days Greve in Chianti
3 days in Florence
2 days in Venice
Fly out of Marco Polo, Venice (VCE)
I'll add some pictures over the next few days of the places we are staying.
Visit the Pizzeria Da Michele while in Naples. It's a bucket list item for me.

You are too kind. I thank you for the offer. I'd probably travel with small tent, just may need to be spared a small square of grass. Or if anyone likes a drooling snorer who is an absolute bear in the morning, we could share a sleeping bag.

It's Nick you gotta watch out for. He's a big boy.
I love the balsamic, my jerk kids do not, so we compromised so I could get them to eat them.

Oh, and I had bacon and shallot brussel sprouts with my dinner last night, of which the leftovers are my lunch today.
God damnit I DO have a problem.........

Southern Gothic, OK, I'm in.
Not personally sure I like the short-run podcasts, but for some I am more than willing to do it.

Hilarious, and very dedicated to go see a band three times that you aren't even into.
Nick really, really enjoys bringing me to shows so I can do everything for him (keep to schedule, order Uber/Lyft, decide where to eat beforehand). I actually told him Wednesday that I was thinking about staying home and that he should just go and have fun with friends and he threw moderate tantrum. LOL! I'm really doing him no favors now that I say that out loud.
I mainly go because we roll with a really, really cool group of people to shows and I usually only see them at shows due to distance and family stuff.
